Well, it's bow season in southern Ohio. Southern Ohio is overrun with deer. I found it very amusing that while the bow hunters were on the back ridge, I took these two photos out the kitchen window. The deer have been coming around to eat the apples that are dropping off the apple tree.
But here's the weird thing. Only one of these deer is real! One of them was motionless for a long time, messing with my head. I was staring out the window for several minutes. I was thinking "Why isn't that deer moving?" I tapped on the window. Still nothing. Well, one of them was a decoy for a bow hunter. Don't ask me how they stick them in the ground so they don't fall over, that I don't know. Did the decoy fool the big buck that's been hanging around? Apparently not.

Picture B is the fake deer.
And speaking of messing with my head. I've been on the road telling everyone we will be releasing four varietals from 2007. And now Ron is intrigued with blending the grapes into a 2007 Revelation like we did for 2006. For people who come to the annual barrel tasting on November 29, we will have a ballot... everyone can vote on whether we should release a Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot (3 wines) or a Revelation blend (1 wine).
The Revelation blend is very popular. More than half of the 2006 404 case release is already sold, and this wine was released September 4. 2008. Just this week at a wine auction, six bottles of the 2006 were sold for $300! We last did the blend in 2001 and 2002. Six bottles of the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon were sold for $500...
